...over the river and through the woods....
I was supposed to go out of town today for a State Conference for my campus group. However, because of advancing technology most of the would-be Conference attendees did their competitions online.
Downside?
I don't get to meet other members from around the state.
Upside?
I didn't have to get up at 3 AM to go out of town.
I didn't have to cover-up/remove my nose ring.
...to grandmother's house we go....
Today is my grandmother's birthday. I get to go to her party at the casino! Since I don't drive, I have to get a ride because the casino is in the next city. So I call my cousin to get a ride, and she says I should meet her at her house. No problem. I just have to walk over there.
There are railroad tracks that run near my house. We often cross those tracks while on our way to various places. Even though they put a new fence near the school, I figured that the gate would be open. WRONG. The gate was locked. So I had to go back up to the tracks and decided to continue following the tracks because they turn towards Cuzzin's house.
Almost a bad idea. I almost got stuck up there. So I called Baby Girl to find out if she knew where I was supposed to go. I learned something that day. Never ask her for directions. Luckily, the building where I did an internship is there and I knew there was an access road behind it. Now I just had to find a hole in the fence. I finally found one. There is a huge rose bush in front of it. Only one teeny scratch on my hand from the thorns.
Dinner at the buffet: $15
Gambling money: $25
Spitball war with your cousins: Priceless
S A T U R D A Y...
I went to class. Nothing exciting there.
I got home, dropped off my bookbag then went to lunch with Aunt S. DNA Sponsor doesn't want anything to do with his own family, so I was a bit worried terrified when she pulled up and he was outside smoking. We went to Chili's and oh man - that was the best damn burger I've had in a while! I had the Southern Smokehouse Bacon Cheeseburger. Those Southwestern eggrolls are pretty damn good too! Then we did some shopping at Wally World (I know, I know, bad for american business)
NIGHT!!
Something happened tonight that hasn't happened in a loooooooooong time. Date night!! M and I went out to the local corner bar (which is dive, but hey it's date night!) We had a few beers, and played a few games of pool.
Unfortunately, it seems that I am not enough for M on date night. He had to call MasterPesa and told him to come on down to the bar. Sigh. While he is a riot to be around, I really was hoping that it would be just me and M. So, make lemonade.
Pesa gets a bit loud and hyper. While playing pool, he shot a few balls off the table and the cue ball rolled into the corner. Pesa found a coffin in the back corner, which he promptly climbed into. No one has any idea why it's back there. So they get bored with playing pool, and we head over to the bar. Where we immediately start throwing peanut shells at each other. :) I have no idea what time we got home. I do remember taking a picture of ground chicken though.
Get it? Ground Chicken? Bwa Ha Ha!!
Sunday
We woke up at noon. My poor cat tried several times to wake me up early because he wanted milk.
He even sat on my head.
I tried to make it a lazy day, but the law says I have to feed the kiddles so we went food shopping. I got a rice cooker!! And tons of fruits and veggies, soy milk, yogurt and good stuff to munch.
I still haven't done my papers....
