Mute Monday - Poetry

Weekend Ketchup

Just a place holder for the moment. I want to get my Mute Monday up.

Dang, I totally forgot about posting the weekend.

Quick, short version:

Got into an argument with my mother about the DNA sponsor staying at my house. She likes to antagonize. She calls the house and leaves a message "Hi, I'm at S' house with M! Give us a call!" So I asked her not to do that and she pulled the Guilt Trip. Nice.

Slept over Aunt S' house with mom and Aunt M.
Went to buffet breakfast on Sunday, then went to the craft store.

Tagged!!

I've been tagged by the lovely Rocker. I'm a sucker for these things!

First, the rules:

1. Each blogger answers the questions about themselves.

2. Then tag five people. Make sure to let them know!

What I was doing 10 years ago?:

10 years ago I was working part-time at an office supply store while attending school full time, very close to
finishing my Associates Degree in Microcomputer Systems Management. (That's Information Technology)

Life was so much easier then, and much happier. The sad thing about it is that I don't really know how I've gotten so far away from that young happy girl. It's almost like she was a dream.

Five things on my to-do list today:

1. Attempt to pound out something that might resemble a research paper. Instructors gave me extra time, and I figure I better use it.

2. Finish a lamp that I want to make. I hope it's gonna be as cool as I first pictured it.

3. Get rid of this sinus/tension/migraine.

4. Do some more spring cleaning in my room.

5. Take a nap

Five Snacks I enjoy:

1. Fruit

2. Cheese and crackers.

3. Peanut butter and crackers.

4. Cheez-its.

5. ICE CREAM!

Five Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

1. Set aside trust funds and college tuition for the kiddles.

2. Build a custom computerized house, just not a weird one like on those movies where the house falls in love with the female human and goes berzerk.

3. Buy some land and build a cabin for the DNA sponsor; buy a double-wide for my mom.

4. Travel to every place I want to go.

5. Invest and save the rest.

Five of my bad habits:

1. I eat when I'm bored, and when I'm stressed.

2. Swear too much.

3. Start things that I don't finish

4. Procrastinate.

5. Even though I take happy pills, I still have a slight tendency to lose my patience too quickly.

Five places I have lived:

1. My parents house

2. My first apartment

3. My first apartment with M

4. My second apartment with M

5. The house I bought with M

Five jobs I’ve had:

1. Papergirl.

2. Cashier.

3. Truck stop waitress.

4. Deli Clerk.

5. Tech Support.

What I’d like to be doing in 25 years:

I'm not telling you how old I'm gonna be in 25 years. I hope to be a successful Computer Forensics Technician. It's either that, or have my own successful crafty business. I like to make things. I also hope to live on a farm, with chickens and horses, and have all my grandbabies running around my country kitchen waiting for cookies. :)

Weekend Ketchup - Updated!!

Friday

I colored my hair! It's not purple, cuz I don't think the police station where I hope to do my internship would appreciate it. I was up til about 1:30 totally NOT working on my papers, all of which are past due.

Edit: Old hair color: (not the best shot of the back of my head...)
Plain. Brown. Boring.

Saturday

I went to class and took my final. Edit: I really didn't like the class. It was a bit boring and not really worth having on a Saturday. The class, like all other classes held at this college, started out with quite a few people. Refund checks arrived and then there was a dramatic drop in attendance. I think I must be the only one that goes to class on a regular basis. Nerd!!

Went to lunch with my aunts. Edit: Aunt M came in from out of town. She's the middle child. My DNA Sponsor is the oldest and Aunt S is the youngest. My grandmother passed away almost 4 years ago. Being around the fam has been a ton o' fun.

NOT.

When Grams passed, the fam found out about Gramps' friend, SideAction. They were friends for about 15 years. YEARS. I don't even know if anyone knew. I had a feeling when Gramps went in for surgery, and she was there. Anywho, they were both very quick to rid the house of Grams stuff. Didn't even think to ask anyone if anyone wanted any of her things. Just started tossin' things as if they couldn't be rid of her quickly enough.

Aunt S inherited the house and then moved her things in shortly after. She put a lot of money into the house cuz Gramps never finished it. He left things half done. She had the kitchen de-molded and painted, the house sided, the basement waterproofed, a new living room window and door installed, and a front porch put in. That's a lot of work.

So why do Gramps and SideAction decide that they need to go into the house, after they've been living at SideAction's house? So now Aunt S had to change the locks. Gramps and S haven't spoken for maybe 3 months. So I brought reinforcements with me to run interference. (M and the kiddles). Luckily, we went to a buffet for lunch so we weren't all at one table feeling awkward.

A few hours later, I went to Dollie's house for a sex toy party. She made some damn good food. Cheeseburger buns, cream cheese rollups with salsa, floating island punch, chicken wing dip, taco dip and this bacon pull apart bread (not so good).

M and I have this unspoken agreement about money. This saves time and arguements about who spends what. We usually discuss how much is being spent on particular items. Especially big ticket items. Toys aren't really big ticket items, but since our tax returns are getting close to being nearly spent I thought I'd ask if I had a limit. I know, I know. I should know the status of my bank account. He's been doing more of his part by actually paying bills (a rarity)

You're still there?
Yeah, I'm still here.
Is that Cuzzin in the background?
No, she never called me back. Did you get my text? I just wanted to know if I had a limit.
Yeah, I got it. Whatever. I gotta go. I'll talk to you later.
Oh. Okay...

I was extremely upset by that and started crying. Something has been going on with him lately. I'm not quite sure what, and I know that he'll say that things are fine. He doesn't do well with confrontation. And like many other men, he won't admit when there is a problem.

So, I made myself feel better by spending $75 AND getting my hair cut. Miss JJ is wonderful, I love my new look!

Edit: New color and cut! Intense Auburn!!

Sunday

Family went to dinner at M's aunt's house because Baby Girl is going to be "sweet 16" this week. (run for your lives!!!)

(I'm going to expand on this more later, got a paper to finish while I'm working... shhhhhh don't tell my boss! Screw the paper.)

TMI Tuesday #131

1. Did you have to pay or did you get money back?
We got money back. We have a great accountant, and we save our receipts.

2. What was your biggest financial mistake?
My biggest mistake was using that credit card I got while I was a student. The biggest financial mistake that M and I made together was buying our property from our previous landlord and allowing him to hold a second mortgage. However, when we refinanced we bought him out.

3. Are you a screamer?
Not really. I can get loud, but I don't scream.

4. What part of your body, other than your genitals, do you love to have touched? What part of a partner's body, other than their genitals, do you love to touch?
Hell, I get goosebumps anytime he touches me. My neck, my arm, or my shoulders. Sometimes he just has to look at me and I get goosebumps. I love touching his shoulders and his legs (no hair!).

5. What [edit: 12:30] commercial catch phrase best describes your life?
Dirty mouth? Clean it up!

Bonus (as in optional): What was the last thing you took without permission? What was the last thing taken from you without your permission?

I try not to take things without permission. However, Baby Girl likes to take my jewelry without permission.

TMI Tuesday #130

1. Your boyfriend/girlfriend cheats on you with your best friend, who are you (more) mad at?
Whoa. This is really odd. I was just thinking about this very thing this morning. These thoughts arose from another situation that will of course appear here. My first boyfriend from 7th or 8th grade didn't really cheat on me, but I think he was trying to make me jealous. His cousin Chloe was my best friend and we were at her house. I brought another friend from school with me and somehow they wound up in Chloe's room. I come back from the bathroom, and Chloe says to me "I think you better go check on them."

I walked into her room and they were both on the bed. They were fully clothed, but they looked too comfy for my comfort. I broke up with him right then and there. I never talked to her after that. So the answer to the question is I am equally mad at both of them.

2. Is there something someone could say to you that would cross a boundary of not being able to take back or forgive them?
I don't believe so. It used to take so little to get me pissed. I'm not sure if it's my Happi Pills or if it's because I'm older.

3. What non-sexual body part do you find the sexiest?
On a man, I love a great six-pack and the definition around the pelvic area.
On a woman, I really love toned upper arms, but not too muscular. Women should be soft and curvy, with some muscle. I don't think the body building women are sexy at all.

4. Would you ever consider cosmetic surgery to have the perfect body?
If I had money, probably. I'd seriously consider a tummy tuck and breast implants. I have a membership at the Y, but I am lazy and haven't been there in a while. So I'm paying them for nothing.

5. Have you ever kissed someone of the same sex?
In a sexual/sensual way or in a friendly sense? If you mean a friendly sense, then yes I have. But just on the cheek. In a sensual way, no I have not. I almost did. The last time I saw my wife Dollie, I had a quick flash of seeing myself lean in for a kiss. Right there in the driveway. I think I might have started to lean in for it, too.

Bonus (as in optional): If you were going to have a one night stand, who would you rather it be with- an ex or someone totally random you just met.
I'd have to pick someone totally random. They're an Ex for a reason.

What'd you say, Boy?

I just love it when I have long days. I get up between 5:20 AM and 5:45 AM on Thursdays so that I can catch two busses in order to be at work by 8 AM. I don't complain about the trip. It gives me time to myself.

I don't complain when the connecting bus to my express shuttle shows up about 10 minutes late, to be just in time for rush hour traffic causing me to miss the shuttle. I don't complain when the fucking bus driver is surly when I ask if she thinks she'll catch up to the shuttle. I don't complain when I have to take the bus back into the city to catch a train from one end to the other. It gives me even more time to myself, even if it does make me late for class.

But a woman has got to draw the line somewhere.

M works the swing shift, which means that the kiddles have to cook sometimes. Tonight was one of those nights. So I get home, throw some refried beans and hot sauce on my cheese quesadilla. I head to the living room to relax in front of the tube while I eat. I shoo the Boy out of my usual spot on the right side of the couch.

Why do i gotta move?
Cuz I always sit there.
But why do i gotta move. I'm sittin' here.
Just, come on, will ya move over please. You know i always sit there.
Fine. which is just the same as if a female says Fine. It's NOT Fine.

Just as i'm about to take a bite of my dinner...

You're welcome.
What'd you say? Did you just say you're welcome? I should have cracked my neck, I whipped my head around so fast.
It's just that i cooked dinner all by myself, and didnt burn the house down. it would be nice to get a thank you.
Oh, and what about all the times that I cook dinner? And go shopping? And clean up after you? I don't hear a rousing chorus of 'thank you' when I do all that shit.
THANK YOU CUZ NOW I'M NOT FUCKING HUNGRY.

Not only was it wrong of me to think that cooking dinner ONE NIGHT during the week was no big deal, how dare I sit down to eat it without telling the Boy "Thank you for this wonderous fucking meal of a flimsy fucking cheese quesadilla that required absolutely no fucking thought whatsoever to fucking cook." So I took his dinner back to the kitchen, wrapped it up for M and made myself grilled cheese.

They sure are lucky I take happy pills.

... and a writer writes...

I've been tagged for The Six-Words Meme by our favorite Troll. Be sure to vote for him!

According to the Legend, even Hemingway did this. You should check out the site, they have a snappy little video there.
Basically, you sum up your life in six words.

Here's mine:

"Life behind a huge brick wall."

I guess I'm supposed to tag peoples. I pick anyone who wants to do it. Class is almost over and then I have to work on papers when I get home. Blah.

This is no good. I swear more in person. I need to get my act together.

TMI Tuesday #129

1. How are your March Madness picks doing? or What is your favorite event?
I don't follow basketball.

2. What is the best April Fool's joke - EVER?
Can't think of any at the moment.

3. Valentine's Day - bogus holiday or romantic holiday?
It's bogus. Love and appreciation should be shown everyday, not just on the days that Hallmarks says are better.

4. If you made any New Year's Resolutions have you broken them yet? or What have you done lately to make yourself a better person?
Yes, I've made resolutions and have broken them already. The biggest one was handing in my papers on time.

5. If you believe in 'regret', what is your biggest regret? If you don't believe in 'regret', what do you call 'errors in judgment' or 'missed opportunities' in your philosophy of life?
The definition of regret: a feeling of sorrow or remorse for a fault, act, loss, disappointment, etc... It's taken me a while to learn to practice what I preach on the topic of regret. I've always believed in being responsible for one's own actions. I've always taken responsibility, but many times I wound up apologizing for something that I had said or done. I now attempt to think about what I say and do before I say or do it. I still sometimes have a bad habit of speaking the truth without thinking about how it will sound. I also believe that if you can't handle the truth, then maybe you shouldn't be doing the shit you are doing.

Bonus (as in optional):
Tell us about four things about yourself, one of which isn't true.
(are you guys supposed to guess one which isn't true?)
I like shrimp.
I love my kiddles.
I sometimes think that I'm a huge sucky loser.
I've had suicidal thoughts before, but I've never acted on those thoughts.
